Funeral services for Ramona Kunkel, age 80, of Early, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 5, 2021, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a private family burial to follow in the Zion Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Beloved mother and wife, Rosa Ramona Kunkel, born July 20, 1940, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 2, 2021.  She was a devoted member of the Brownwood Primitive Baptist Church. She lived life to the fullest loving music and travel and most of all loved her family.  She and her husband Rudy Kunkel enjoyed taking cruises, going to family reunions and watching westerns.  She loved to laugh and sing and was an amazing bowler.  She had a song for every situation.  She loved telling jokes and was a prankster.  She was an only child, but she was raised with her cousins around her, so she basically had a huge family.  Ramona worked for Edward Jones for over 30 years and felt like they were her family too.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Kunkel and her parents, Lena and Jess Thomas.  She is survived by her children, Cristi Maxwell of Leander, Jana Ryan and husband Dennis of West Fork, Arkansas, Venetia Schiller and husband Mark of Bellville, Johnny Kunkel and his wife Kay Wharton, Keith Kunkel of Victoria and Terry Kunkel of Early.  She also is survived by her grand-children, Rachael Bailey, Travis Stockman, Alex Ryan, Alexis Maxwell, Keith Wayne Svatek, Kyle Alan Kunkel, Lori Kunkel, Neal Kunkel, Nathan Kunkel, Jenna Schiller, Austin Schiller, Ethan Kunkel, and several great-grandchildren.

Condolences, memories and tributes can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
