Annie Jean Carlisle

Annie Jean Carlisle, age 95, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, at a local nursing home.

Funeral Services for Annie Jean will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Annie Jean was born on February 16, 1926, to Sidney L. Long and Gertrude (Davis) Long in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading her bible. Annie was a very good impromptu cook; she could whip up a delicious meal with just about anything she had in the pantry. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Annie Jean is survived by 3 sons, Louis “Woody” Carlisle of Brownwood, Roger A. Carlisle of Brownwood, Ron Carlisle and wife Judy of Norton Shores, Michigan; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Dennis Earl Long and wife Arlene of Arlington. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Carlisle; grandson, Justin Carlisle; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and her parents, Sidney and Gertrude Long.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Corrine T. Smith Animal Center (3016 Milam Dr. Brownwood, Texas 76801). Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
