Brown County Sheriff’s Report – May 25

On Friday, May 21 at approximately 7:11 a.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to to Roanoke in Brownwood. This was in reference to a deadly conduct report and investigation.

On Friday, May 21 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Deputy Mike Sheedy, arrived at County Road 271 to speak with the complainant, who reported a family member has made threats against him and against his property. Complainant reported the family member does have mental health issues and has a history of drug abuse. A report has been generated and will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.

On Friday, May 21 at approximately 7:32 p.m. Deputy Nicolas A. Wood was notified of an Arson offense, which occurred at CR 405. An investigation was conducted, and the report will follow.

On Saturday, May 22 at approximately 1:24 p.m. a complainant reported an unknown suspect drove a vehicle through the fence line at a property located on County Road 321. The vehicle had fled the scene prior to the damage being noticed by the complainant.

On Saturday, May 22 at approximately 5:09 p.m. Deputy Nicolas A. Wood was notified of a burglary offense, which had occurred at Lincoln Road. An investigation was conducted, and the report will follow.

On Sunday, May 23 at approximately 12:55 p.m. a complainant reported an unknown suspect drove a vehicle through his fence line in the 11200 Block of County Road 455. Approximately 150 feet of fence line was damaged. Information was gathered for a report and it will be forwarded to Criminal Investigations for follow up.

On Sunday, May 23 Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to Hwy 279 for a report of a possible burglary. Mathis arrived on scene and determined no burglary occurred. A report was made for criminal trespass and criminal mischief. While on scene Mathis was notified of a subject walking on Hwy 279 and possibly involved. Mathis contacted the individual and learned he had active warrants. The individual was placed in custody for the warrants. A report was made for further investigation.

On Sunday, May 23 Sgt. Taylor Fletcher performed a traffic stop on a black Mazda SUV in the 2800 block of CR 381. After a probable cause search, both occupants of the vehicle were arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 ounces for about 6.0 grams of marijuana found in the vehicle.

On Monday, May 24, an individual reported unauthorized charges were made on three separate credit-debit cards. Each of the three credit-debit cards had the same two unauthorized charges. The total amount of the unauthorized credit cards was $2,250.

On Monday, May 24 at about 11:31 a.m. Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at the Brownwood Law Enforcement Center located at 1050 W Commerce in Brownwood. This was in regards to terroristic threat. Langley spoke with he victim who stated he is being harassed by the ex-boyfriend (suspect) of his daughter (witness).

On Monday, May 24 at about 4:44 p.m. Deputy Byron Langley arrived at the Brownwood Law Enforcement Center located at 1050 W Commerce in Brownwood. This was in regards to harassment. Langley spoke to a victim who stated a suspect had been harassing her by text messages, taking pictures, and following her.
