Louise Slayton Strength

Louise Slayton Strength, age 92, of Coleman, Texas passed to the arms of her Jesus on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 4:20 p.m. at Coleman County Medical Center.

Services will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Bill Franklin Center in Coleman with Rev. Randy Casey officiating.  A private interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery with services under the personal care of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 till 7:30 pm at Henderson Funeral Home.  A family meal will follow service at Bill Franklin Center at 3:00 pm.

Louise was born February 12, 1929 in Echo, Texas to G J and Gladys Keeney Slayton.  She was raised in Coleman County attending the Buffalo Schools.  She continued her education in four years of Bible College and became an ordained minister and completed studies as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.  On July 12, 1950 Louise married the love of her life William James Strength in Coleman, Texas and they celebrated 46 years of marriage.  Bill preceded her in death in 1996.

Louise devoted many years as pastor and member of the Brazos Street Community Church, truly and passionately gathering prayer partners and leading people to Christ and living his word through Hebrews 13:2.  She was an EMT and Midwife and for a hobby enjoyed china painting as a member of the Heartland Porcelain Art Club and State of Texas Porcelain Art Club.

Survivors include 2 daughters – Betty L Beal of Coleman, Texas, Ginger & husband David Walker of Brownwood, Texas; adopted daughter – Kathy Wheeler of Lubbock, Texas; 3 sons – Herbie Strength of Coleman, Texas, Delbert Strength of Talpa, Texas, Nathan Strength of Coleman, Texas; 3 sisters – Delores Fenton of Johnson City, Texas, Francis Smith of Lohn,  Texas; Sandra Wilson of Coleman, Texas; nNumerous nieces & nephews; 25 grandchildren 75 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, son – Johnny Strength; 2 brothers – Kemp Slayton and G W Slayton ; 2 sisters – Fredna Horton & Irene Matthews; and 3 granddaughters –Hailey Strength, Trinity Liebhaber, Destiny Faith Fletcher.

Pallbearers are Michael Strength, Jake Strength, Stoney Strength, Cooper Strength, Joshua Liebhaber, Caleb Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Strength, Dustin Beal, Seth Beal, Clayton Beal.
