The Concho County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed Monday night in Eden have been identified.

They are Deputy Samuel Leonard and Sgt. Stephen Jones.

Funeral services for Deputy Samuel Leonard have been set for Monday, May 17, at the First Baptist Church in Lamesa, Texas at 2:00 pm.

Funeral service for Sgt. Stephen Jones is pending.  The escort home for Sgt. Jones will be leaving Lubbock at approximately 8 o’clock this morning (Wednesday) en route to San Angelo via Highway 87.

The man accused of killing the deputies is 28 year-old Jeffrey Nicholas who is jailed in Tom Green County in San Angelo on a $4 million bond, charged with two counts of Capital Murder of a Peace Officer.
