Melody Nowowiejski will join the Brownwood City Council, while the Bangs City Council will welcome two new members – Greggory Cassady and Greg Flores – following Saturday’s general election results

In a special election to fill the vacated Ward 3 position in Brownwood, Nowowiejski received 128 votes to 43 for Linda Heitman. At the May 11 Brownwood City Council meeting, Nowowiejski will be sworn in to take the place of Larry Mathis, who is moving to Georgetown.

Also, Rick Phelps will be the new mayor of Bangs as he ran unopposed and will take the place of Eric Bishop.
