Margaret June Pyburn

June Pyburn, age 94, of Voss, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Senior Care of Brownwood.

The family will host a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.  A graveside funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Voss Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Emmanuel Jimenez, chaplain at Kindred Hospice, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Voss Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Margaret June Cordell on July 1, 1926 in Ballinger to Guy Abner Cordell and Euda Love Rogers Cordell.  She grew up in Ballinger and Runnels County.  June married Rufus Elton “Sie” Pyburn on August 17, 1946 in Sweetwater.  She loved gardening, sewing, and loved the farm life.  June loved her family and providing for them.  She was a member of the Voss Baptist Church.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Euda Cordell; her husband, Rufus Elton “Sie” Pyburn; her son, Charles Pyburn; two sisters, Euda Faye Wheeler and Peggy Gene Watts; and one brother, Jerold J. Cordell.

She is survived by two sons, Weldon Bruce Pyburn and wife Pauline of Flora Vista, New Mexico and Doyle Pyburn and wife Weda of Voss; her daughter-in-law, Frances Pyburn of Santa Anna; seven grandchildren, Lana Gilder and husband Doug, Shelby Gould and husband Keith, Elizabeth Beard, James Pyburn, Wayne Pyburn and wife Jesse, Fisher Pyburn, and Scarlett Pyburn; 11 great-grandchildren, Jeffry Gilder, Amber Griffin, Jessica Gilder, Chaney Gilder, Drew Ann Gilder, Josh Brown, Brandon Beard, Britt Beard, Kimber Pyburn, River Pyburn, and Brazos Winchester; five great-great-grandchildren, Luke Gilder, Zachary Gilder, Vixie Gilder, Abigail Griffin, and Erica Griffin; one sister, Geroldine Stewart and husband Lynn of Abilene; and one brother, Danny Ray Cordell of Palestine.

Memorials are suggested in memory of June to the Voss Cemetery Association, C/O Bob Turner, 40 County Road 340, Voss, Texas 76888.
