GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Lions find themselves in third place midway through the District 6-4A boys golf tournament, as the first 18 holes took place Monday at Squaw Valley Golf Course.

The Lions posted a team score of 328, which trailed front-runner Gatesville (310) and second-place Stephenville (314). The first- and second-place teams, as well as the first- and second-place golfers not on a qualifying team, will advance to the Region I-4A tournament in Lubbock April 21-22.

Brownwood’s previous three rounds as a team had been a pair of 318s and a season-low 316 at the same venue last week.

Sir Bubba Jones and Hudson Reagan paced the Lions with rounds of 80 followed by Ian Harris with an 83, John Monson with an 85 and Slayde Espinoza with a 90.

The final 18 holes will be played Monday, April 5 in Gatesville.
