Five Lady Jackets earn ASC basketball honors

The American Southwest Conference today announced the 2021 women’s basketball all-conference awards and five Howard Payne University players were recognized on the lists.

CHELSEY HARRIS – 1st Team All-West Division
Starting in 16 of 17 games played in for Howard Payne, Chelsey was second on the team in scoring at 10.8 ppg and was named the ASC West Division Player of the Week once during the season.

AMANDA TURPIN – West Division Freshman of the Year/2nd Team All-West Division/ All-West Division Freshman Team
Playing in 16 of 17 games for the Lady Jackets, Amanda was second in the ASC in total three-pointers made (37) and was named the ASC West Division Player of the Week once during the season.

BRIA NEAL – 2nd Team All-West Division
Starting in 15 of 17 games for HPU, she led the Lady Jackets in rebounding with 5.6 per game and recorded a double-double twice this season.

SALINA ALI – HM All-West Division/All-West Defensive Team
Led the conference in steals with 51 (3.0 per game) was named the ASC West Division Player of the Week once during the season. She had a five or more assists and steals five times this season.

KAYLA BRIGANCE – All-West Division Freshman Team
Starting in 5 of 16 games played in for HPU, Kayla led the ASC in block shots at 1.8 per game. She recorded four blocks in a game four times this season.
