Louis Moore, age 98, of Coleman, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Coleman County Medical Center.  Mr. Moore’s wishes were to be cremated and his family has honored that request.  A graveside funeral service with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Voss Cemetery.  Inurnment will follow in the Voss Cemetery.   Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born Louis Carlton Moore on October 19, 1922 in Wilburton, Oklahoma, a son of Thomas Moore and Dee A. Strickland Moore. He moved with his family to Coleman County when he was a young boy.  He attended school at Mozelle.  He joined the Army Air Force (as it was called at that time) and served in the European Theater of Operations in Italy and Africa during World War II.  He was a heavy equipment operator for construction companies.  He loved to hunt in the cold country for elk and deer.  He enjoyed bartering, trading and selling.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Moore of Coleman; two children, Leonard Moore of Lake Hills and Teresa Moore of Durango, Colorado; two grandchildren, Reagan Williamson and Erin Whitney Price; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Louis Carlton Moore, Jr.

Please leave kind thoughts and condolences for the family at www.livingmemorials.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Moore family.
