Bangs’ Ethan Cortez qualified for state in powerlifting at the regional meet in Kennedale Tuesday, while other Dragons competing included Damien Santillanes, Chris Diaz and Ian Cortez. There totals and places are as follows:
Ethan Cortez, senior – 1st place 198 weight class -1500 total – State Qualifier
Damien Santillanes, junior – 3rd place 132 weight class – 1005 total
Chris Diaz, sophomore – 8th place 114 weight class – 565 total
Ian Cortez, freshman – 8th place 148 weight class – 1075 total
The state meet will be held March 27 in Abilene.
