Due to the resignation of Brownwood City Council Place 3 Councilman Larry Mathis, a special election to fill his position will be held Saturday, May 1.

Monday, March 1, was the deadline to file for the office and two candidates will be on the ballot for the special election – Melody Nowowiejski and Linda Heitman.

The City of Brownwood issued the following: Notice is hereby given that a drawing for place on the ballot of the City’s Special Election, May 1, 2021, shall be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 501 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas, at 10:00 a.m.
