TPWD Fishing Report – Feb. 11

Brownwood

SLOW. Water clear; 54 degrees; 2.90 low. Largemouth bass are slow with swimbaits, blade baits, and jigs near brush piles, shorelines, and timber-lined creeks. Crappie are slow on minnows in brush piles and timber edges near a creek channel or drop off. White bass and hybrids are slow on slabs and trolling swimbaits. Catfish are fair on punch bait and cut bait in 15-25’ near baited areas.

Cisco

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 49 degrees; 5.71’ low. Largemouth bass are fair to slow depending on surface temps and wind. Rocks and creeks have remained the best spots, but activity has slowed on worms and crankbait. Sunfish are fair with nightcrawlers and cutworms staying shallow and bank fishing sunny structure. Crappie are fair, preferring jigs in and around creeks. Catfish are good on stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and chicken livers night and day.

Coleman

GOOD. Slightly stained. 54-56 degrees. 3.11’ low. Hybrid stripers are fair, with a slowdown on rattletraps following baitfish. Largemouth bass are good in early and late 45 minutes of every day on topwater, buzzbaits, and plastic worms in timber and vegetation. Catfish are fair using stinkbait and cut bait around cove entrances within 4 feet of the bottom.

O.H. Ivie

FAIR. Water clear; 52 degrees; 13.21’ low. Black bass are good working the deepest parts of standing timber on weedless bass jigs and thick worms. Crappie are fair on live minnows suspending within 50 yards of the bank in secluded natural spots. Catfish are good on stinkbait, live, and cut bait.

Proctor

FAIR. Water clear 56 degrees; 0.45 low. Largemouth bass are fair on purple plastic worms, silver jerk baits, yellow/green or white/blue spinners, and skirted jigs in near deep brushy creeks, timber edges, and rocky shorelines in 14-28’. Hybrid stripers are fair with live bait and jigging spoons in the main lake around 30-45’. Crappie are fair with minnows in 14-28’ in creek mouths, timber, and brush piles. Catfish are fair on cut bait and shrimp.
