CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES

The following is a list of cancellations, closures or delays related to the weather. This post will be updated through the weekend and into next week as more information is received:

  • Bangs American Legion will not have BINGO Friday, Feb. 12 or Monday, Feb. 15 due to inclement weather.
  • The fundraiser for the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center that was supposed to be this Saturday has been postponed until March 13th.  Hopefully it will be warmer then.
  • Good Samaritan Ministries will be closed Monday, February 15, for the President’s Day Holiday.  They will reopen Tuesday at 10 a.m.  For other weather-related closures and changes in hours follow them on Facebook.

As of 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11

  • Early ISD early dismissal today for kindergarten as 12:30 p.m., all other grades at 12:45 p.m.
  • Brownwood ISD early dismissal at 3:15 p.m. today.

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11

  • Brownwood ISD outdoor sports are cancelled through the weekend
  • Brownwood-Lampasas varsity boys basketball moved to 1 pm. Saturday in Lampasas.
  • Bangs-Dublin varsity boys basketball moved to 11 a.m. Saturday in Bangs
  • Howard Payne softball, tennis, soccer cancelled for the weekend
As of 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11
  • Early will have remote learning
  • Bangs will not have school
  • Victory Life Academy will not have school
  • Cross Plains will not have school
  • Blanket will start at 10 a.m., buses to run 2 hours late
  • Goldthwaite will start at 10 a.m., buses to run 2 hours late
  • Brownwood Salvation Army will be closed
  • No City and Rural Rides appointments until noon
As of 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12
  • Tonight’s May Lady Tigers’ bi-district basketball game against Highland has been postponed. No rescheduled date has been set yet.
As of 2:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12
  • The Howard Payne football and basketball games at Hardin-Simmons on Saturday, Feb. 13 have been postponed by inclement weather.
  • The May Lady Tigers’ bi-district basketball playoff game against Highland has been rescheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 in Eula.
  • The Zephyr Lady Bulldogs’ bi-district basketball playoff game against Cherokee has been moved to Goldthwaite and will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12

As of 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12

  • Due to inclement weather All AccelHealth Clinics will be closed Monday, Feb. 15.

As of 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13

  • Due to the winter weather conditions and the safety of scouts and their families, Troop 14 will be unable to put out flags on Monday for Presidents’ Day. Troop 14 will be adding a day for flags later in the year to make up for this cancellation.
  • Due to weather, Grand Starz will not be open Saturday or Sunday. Please stay home, safe and warm. Grand Starz will reschedule the big Valentines Day Bingo special.
  • Saturday’s Brownwood-Lampasas basketball game has been postponed Brownwood will now visit Lampasas at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a game that will determine the #2 and #3 playoff seeds from District 6-4A in boys basketball.
  • Today’s May-Highland girls basketball bi-district playoff game has been postponed. No make up date announced yet.
  • The Bangs-Dublin and Zephyr-Sidney boys basketball games slated for Saturday have been postponed.

As of 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14

  • FUMC Brownwood has canceled its services today due to the weather
  • Rocky Creek Baptist Church will be online service at 11 a.m. only. No in person service.

As of 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14

  • Little Dude Ranch will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • All Hendrick clinics will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Good Samaritan Ministries will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • AccelHealth will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Humphrey Pete’s will be closed Monday, Feb. 15

As of 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14

  • Howard Payne University will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • TSTC Brownwood will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Rising Star ISD will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Heartland Mall will be closed Monday, Feb. 15

  • Epiphany Detmatology- Dr Pursley , Wesley Bull and Dr Hatter office will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • The Bangs ISD school board meeting for Monday, Feb. 15 has been cancelled
  • Dallas Huston’s Bible Study for Monday, Feb. 15 has been cancelled
  • Brownwood Women’s Clinic will be opening at 1 p.m. Monday. Feb. 15. If you have an emergency please contact the ob/gyn on call.

As of 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14

  • CRB Medical Associates will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Small Animal Medical Center will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Zondag Chiropractic will be closed Monday, Feb. 15
  • Diamond R in Zephyr   will be closed Monday, Feb. 15

  • Brownwood ISD will have remote learning Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Early ISD will have remote learning Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Bangs ISD will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Brookesmith ISD will have remote learning Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17
  • Due to icy road conditions and in an effort to conserve electricity during this extreme weather event, the Brown County Appraisal District will be closed on Tuesday the 16th.

As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16

  • Dr.’s Ethridge and Harding closed Tuesday 2/16 due to power outage
  • Due to continued inclement weather, most non-emergency City services will have a late opening of 10:00 am February 16, 2021. The Brownwood Regional Landfill Center will open at 8:00 am to the public as usual. Monday’s sanitation routes will run on Tuesday, but it may be slower than usual. The Senior Citizens Center and Lehnis Railroad Museum will be closed.
  • Howard Payne will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • TSTC Brownwood will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • May ISD will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Zephyr ISD will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Goldthwaite ISD will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Premier High School will not have classes Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Blanket ISD will have remote learning Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • Richland Springs ISD will have remote learning Tuesday, Feb. 16
  • All Hendrick Brownwood facilities will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 16 with the exception of Outpatient Infusion Services, which will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. Patients will be contacted.
  • All AccelHealth clinics will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17.
  • Brownwood’s Tuesday softball game at home against Jim Ned has been cancelled and Friday’s game in Anson has been moved to Saturday at 2 p.m. It will only be a varsity game.
  • Dr Gwendolyn Allen’s Office will be closed Tuesday, Feb 16

As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16

  • Bangs ISD will not resume school until Friday, Feb. 19 at the earliest
  • The Brownwood Kiwanis Club will not meet Thursday, Feb. 18

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16

  • Brownwood ISD will have remote learning Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18
  • Early ISD will not have school Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18
  • Bangs ISD will not have school Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18
  • Howard Payne University will not have school Wednesday, Feb. 17
  • May ISD will not have school Wednesday, Feb. 17
  • Zephyr ISD will not have school Wednesday, Feb. 17
  • Dr. Bohn Young’s office will not be open Wednesday, Feb. 17
  • Grand Starz will not be open Wednesday, Feb. 17
  • Court hearings with the City of Early for Wednesday, Feb. 17 have been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24
  • The Brownwood Senior Citizen Center will return to normal curbside pick up and delivery on Thursday, Feb. 18
  • Tuesday night’s Brownwood Lions basketball game at Lampasas has been postponed
  • Tuesday night’s May-Highland girls basketball bi-district playoff game has been postponed and rescheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Winters
  • Tuesday’s Brownwood Lady Lions softball game against Jim Ned was cancelled and their Friday game at Anson has been moved to Saturday
  • Tuesday’s Early Lady Horns softball game against Grape Creek was cancelled
  • Howard Payne University has postponed its Spring Family Reunion set for Saturday, Feb. 20
  • All Howard Payne sports events have been cancelled through Sunday, Feb. 21
  • The Brookesmith school will remain closed until Monday, Feb. 22
  • Blanket ISD will have remote learning Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18
