The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department and Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood are partnering once again to host a closed COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Wednesday, February 10th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Due to inclement weather concerns, the clinic will not be a drive-thru event like last week, but instead will be held by appointment only in the Depot Civic Center. Clinic attendees are asked to arrive at their appointment time as space is limited at the Depot.

Similar to last week’s clinic, individuals who have previously signed up on the Health Department and Hendrick Brownwood’s joint vaccination contact list will receive an email or phone call with instructions on how to schedule an appointment for a vaccination. The clinic is in response to a shipment of 400 vaccine doses supplied to the Health Department. Vaccine distribution in Brown County will continue to follow guidelines outlined by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

As the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department staff focus their efforts on facilitating more frequent COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the community, the daily COVID-19 case updates on the City’s website will move to once per week. Testing will still continue regularly in the community. Data from the daily tests results received will be compiled and uploaded to the City’s website on Fridays. (MRC), the CERT Team and our team here at the Health Department helped make last week’s vaccination clinic successful.” 

As additional shipments continue to arrive, the Health Department and Hendrick Brownwood expect to coordinate more vaccination events. Currently DSHS recommends vaccinating individuals working as front-line healthcare workers and residents at long-term care facilities, known as Phase 1A, and people 65 or older with specific pre-existing health conditions, known as Phase 1B.
