Ora Jane Anderson, 79 (Coleman)

Ora Jane Anderson, age 70, of Coleman, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Coleman Healthcare.

The family will host a visitation at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating.

Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.  Face coverings are required to attend the visitation and graveside service.

Ora Jane was born August 24, 1950 in Coleman to Matt Anderson and Mattie Linch Anderson.  She grew up in Coleman and attended Coleman High School.  Ora Jane became a Certified Nurse Aide and began her career at Overall Morris Hospital, now Coleman County Medical Center.  She worked there for over 44 years where she took care of numerous Coleman County residents.  She loved her job and serving the community.  Ora Jane enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family.  She was a life-long resident of Coleman and attended the North Coleman Baptist Church.  Her kind heart and warm smile will be greatly missed.

Ora Jane is preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Deana Anderson, and her adopted sister, Janet Horton.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Anderson of Coleman; her nephews, Chipper Anderson and wife Paula of Lake Brownwood and Billy Wade and wife Lisa of Coleman; her niece, Serena Jenkins and husband Brian of Coleman; and many great nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Ora Jane to the North Coleman Baptist Church, 905 North Neches Street, Coleman, Texas 76834; The West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford Street, Abilene, Texas 79605; or to the donor’s charity of choice.

Pallbearers will be Chipper Anderson, Billy Wade, Luke Anderson, Jed Anderson, Dereck Newman, Gary Horton, and Brian Jenkins.
