Maria Rodriguez, 84 (Coleman)

Maria Rodriguez, age 84, of Coleman, died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, in Coleman with Father Laurent Mvondo, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Maria Angela Flores on December 26, 1936 to Mr. and Mrs. Calistro Flores in Hebbronville.  She moved to Coleman 25 years ago.  She worked at Dry Manufacturing in Winters and Best Fried Chicken in Coleman.  Maria was a wonderful homemaker and loved to spend time with her grandsons.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coleman.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, Domingo Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez and wife Harriet, and Mary Ella Rodriguez; two grandchildren, Christian Rodriguez and Jo Angel Slack; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Hortencia Rodriguez.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Maria to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, Coleman, Texas 76834.

To protect each other from the COVID-19 infection, we ask that you comply with the CDC Social Distancing Guidelines as well as Governor Greg Abbott’s request that a face covering be utilized.  Face masks are required to attend the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial.

Funerals are currently a public event being held during the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  When you attend a public event, you are acknowledging risk of exposure.
