Heraclio “Eddie” Galvan, Jr., 62 (Brownwood)

Heraclio “Eddie” Galvan, Jr., age 62, of Brownwood, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Frausto officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery in Brown County.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Eddie was born March 17, 1958 in Ballinger to Heraclio Galvan, Sr. and Matilda Luera Galvan.  He grew up in Ballinger where he attended school.  Eddie married Virginia Guerrero on December 31, 1984 in Coleman.  He was employed by the Kohler Company in Brownwood for 15 years.  Eddie enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia, watching cowboy and western movies, and building woodwork art.  His favorite time of the year was Thanksgiving and Christmas.  He enjoyed spending this time with his grandchildren and watching the football games with his boys.  Eddie was meticulous about his yardwork and loved to mow his yard.  Eddie loved his family and friends.  He was always there to help anyone in need and was an amazing husband and father.

Eddie is joined in heaven by his parents, Heraclio Galvan, Sr. and Matilda Galvan; four brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Galvan of Brownwood; his children, Johnny Salazar and wife Nancy of Fort Worth, Michelle Salazar and significant other Jose Rodriguez of Brownwood, Eric Salazar of Brownwood, Crystal Gatlin and husband William of Brownwood, Eddie Galvan and wife Jackie of Brownwood, and Anthony Hernandez of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters; and one brother.
