Cora Lee Talbert, age 99, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in a local nursing home. A graveside service for Cora will be held on Saturday, January 9 at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland TX.

Cora was born on March 8, 1921 in Caspiana, LA. to Henry Holmes and Reva Ann (Dawson) Holmes. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Cora was a jolly soul who kept people laughing. She did whatever she could to financially support her family. Cora loved children and enjoyed serving in her church. She was the last of the 5th generation and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and family members.

Cora is survived by her step son, Lloyd Talbert Jr.; and her great niece, Neddra Wade.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Reva; 2 husbands, Elijah Aykes and Lloyd Talbert Sr.; brothers James Holmes, Johnny Holmes, Rayfield Holmes, and Henry Holmes Jr.; sisters, Irene Livingston and Annette B. Kelly.
