Anna Lee Belz ,87, of Eula, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be held on January 6, 2021 at the Burkett Cemetery at 2:00 pm in Burkett, Texas with Pastor Richard Mittelstadt of Grace Lutheran Church Brownwood, officiating.

Ann was born in Dressy, Texas to Loran and Lucille Duncan on March 3, 1933. She weighed only 3 pounds 1 ounce and was not expected live, but live she did and oh how thankful we are for that. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1950 and married Frank Belz on October 15, 1962 in Brownwood, Texas.

Ann worked as a homemaker and community volunteer serving others most of her adult life. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood, TX. Ann was heavily involved in Brownwood PTA, where she served as president. She spent many years as a volunteer for Brownwood Little League Baseball. She was also involved in Brown County Republican Women where she received the Republican Woman of the Year award. She was involved in LWML, delivered Meals on Wheels and was a charter member of the Brownwood Area Farmer’s Market. One of her most outstanding achievements was her prized garden. She won countless blue ribbons for vegetables, canning and baking at the Brown County Fair and West Texas Fair. Nothing prided her more than to be the first to sell out of tomatoes at the Farmer’s Market. Her truest passion though was for her family, she loved with her whole heart and there was never a time you came to her door that you left hungry. She was a great cook and baker and she made anyone who came to her home feel warm and welcome. She was the best Nano any kid could have.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Loran and Lucille Duncan.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Belz of Eula; her son David Belz and wife Jamie Belz of Abilene; son Larry Templin of Salado; step-daughter Cindy Koenig and husband Charlie Koenig of Colleyville; granddaughters Mackenzie Lee Belz of Irving and Rachel Koenig of Dallas; grandsons Chris Koenig and wife Helen Koenig of North Richland Hills, Dustin Templin & Spencer Templin. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Condolences for the family may be left at www.northsfuneralhome.com.
