Lena Rogers passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2020 in Early, Texas at age 98. There will be a private family service and burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady, Texas.

Lena Mae Wood was born November 13, 1922 in Concho County, Texas to John Fulcher Wood and Gertrude Fiveash Wood. Lena grew up in the old farming community of Pasche, attended public school in Melvin and after marrying E. Scott King lived in Brady for nineteen years. Following Scott’s death in 1963, Lena married Don Rogers and moved to Austin in 1966. After the passing of Don Rogers in 1995, Lena remained in Austin before relocating to Brownwood in 2007 to be near her son, Don. She resided the past eight years at CARE Nursing & Rehabilitation in Early, Texas.

Lena is survived by one son, Don A. King of Brown County, Texas; and two grandchildren, Melissa King-Knowles (and husband Kelly) of Richmond, Texas, and Jay King (and wife Tracey) of Georgetown, Texas.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by siblings John Fulcher Wood Jr., Hiram Williams and Marie Bannister.
