BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: No. 18 May girls cruise past Jonesboro

MAY – The Class A No. 18 May Lady Tigers improved to 7-2 on the season with Friday’s home win over Jonesboro, 59-17.

Roberta Robinette, Lexi Fox and Korlei King led the Lady Tigers with nine points each followed by Reese Chambers, Sophie Lord and Hannah McKenzie with eight points apiece.

Charity Baker and Brianna Steele both chipped in three points while Anna Woods contributed two points.

May will host Lometa Tuesday.

Ballinger 59, Early Lady Horns 32

BALLINGER – The Early Lady Horns were denied their first win streak of the season as they dropped a 59-32 decision to Ballinger Friday,

Tatum Reigle led Early with 14 points and Caroline Welker contributed 10.

The Lady Horns are back in action Tuesday as they host Bangs in the District 8-3A opener for both teams.

Dublin 67, Blanket Tigers 41

DUBLIN – The Blanket Tigers slipped to 1-1 on the season, dropping a 67-41 road decision to Class 3A Dublin Friday night.

Tyler Simpson scored a game-high 24 points to lead the way for the Tigers.

Blanket is back in action at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jonesboro, which it defeated, 35-33, on Dec. 4.
