A graveside funeral service for Ken Holubec, age 71, of Chandler, formerly of May, will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in the Wolf Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Ken died at his home on Friday, November 20, 2020.

Kenneth Wayne Holubec was born on January 18, 1949, in Texas City, to Clifton and Ruby (Stoll) Holubec.  He was raised in Texas City and graduated from Texas City High School.  Ken worked in warehouse management, shipping and receiving, and delivery for 40 plus years.

On May 7, 1976, Ken married Polly Anna Roberds in Irving.  Polly preceded him in death in 2007, after 31 years of marriage.

Ken had a love for animals and the great outdoors in the country. He was happiest hunting hogs, white tail deer and wild turkey, fresh and saltwater fishing, raising goats and sheep, and attending baseball games.  Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church of May.  In 2016, Ken moved to Chandler to be closer to his brother.

Ken is survived by his brother, Cliff Holubec and wife Delores of Athens and friends too numerous to mention.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Polly.

Ken requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Polly’s name to the American Cancer Society.

Condolences, memories, and tributes can be shared with the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
