The Brownwood Freshman and JV Lions recorded a pair of shutout victories Thursday night.

Freshman Lions 31, Abilene Wylie 0

ABILENE – The Freshman Lions grabbed a 7-0 lead in the first quarter as Ike Hall tossed a 19-yard touchdown to Hayden Noe, and Hudson Reagan added the extra point.

In the second quarter, Reagan booted a 28-yard field goal to boost the lead to the 10-0. Hall then scored on a 21-yard run and tossed a 27-yard touchdown pass to Reagan, as the lead stood at 24-0 at halftime following a goal line stand on the last play of the half.

The Lions tacked on their final touchdown in the third period as Hall hurled a 1-yard scoring toss to Noe.

Defensive standouts included Quentin McCarty with three tackles for loss, Sam Kallman with two tackles, and interception and a fumble recovery, and Stevie Ramirez with five tackles.

JV Lions 34, Alvarado 0

ALVARADO – The Brownwood JV Lions offense was led by quarterback Case Markham and running back Brandon Holland, who both eclipsed 100 yards rushing.

Noah Barron also caught a touchdown from Markham as time ran out in the first half.

The Lions defense bottled up Alvarado all night and preserved the shutout with a goal line stand in the fourth quarter.
