KNEL Radio FM 95.3/AM 1460 out of Brady posted the following story on its website Sunday:

The San Angelo Police Department confirmed Sunday that 19-year old John Samuel Dagen of Brady was fatally shot in an incident on the city’s north side early Sunday morning.

Dagen is the son of McCulloch County Sheriff, John Dagen.

San Angelo Police also confirmed that 18-year-old Arturo Garcia of San Angelo was charged with murder in the Sunday morning shooting.

According to SAPD, officers were called to the 2800 block of Pecan St in San Angelo for reports of shots fired around 1:30 a.m. The call was quickly upgraded to a shooting,

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located 19-year-old John Samuel Dagen of Brady in a nearby alley with multiple gunshot wounds. Dagen was transported to Shannon Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police officers who were in the neighborhood conducting burglary patrol saw Garcia walking away from the scene.

San Angelo police also determined a second shooting occurred inside the residence, and the investigation of both shootings is continuing.
