Rita Pope, 71 (Coleman)

Rita Pope, age 71, of Coleman, died Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Coleman County Medical Center.

Her family will host a visitation on Monday, September 28, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, Coleman.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020, in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel  with Rev. David Jenkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Rita Glendean Pope was born on February 22, 1949 in Coleman, Texas, the only child of Glen Fletcher Pope and Freva Undean Rich Pope.  She grew up in Coleman and Santa Anna and attended school in both places.  She graduated from beauty college in Brownwood and was a hairdresser for several years.  Rita loved all kinds of animals and was a champion for them.  She also enjoyed baking pies, cakes and other good things. She loved her family and friends and she will be deeply missed by them.

She is survived by one daughter, Tuy Chamberlin and husband Bobby of Early; three grandchildren, Tyler Chamberlin of San Angelo, Tanner Chamberlin of Coleman and Teagan Chamberlin of Early; one great-grandson, Bentley Chamberlin of Early.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
