
AUSTIN—The Texas Juvenile Justice Department provided the following updates Tuesday related to COVID-19:
• 1 youth at the Ron Jackson State Juvenile Correctional Complex, in Brownwood, tested positive for COVID-19.
• As of today, TJJD has 6 active cases across its facilities: 4 youth and 2 staff.
• Since the start of the pandemic, TJJD has administered 1,334 COVID-19 tests to youth. Since the start of the pandemic, 171 staff members at the agency’s secure facilities have tested positive for COVID-19:

Gainesville State School: 11
Giddings State School: 41
McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility: 23
Ron Jackson State Juvenile Correctional Complex: 41
Since the start of the pandemic, 196 youth at the agency’s secure facilities have tested positive for COVID-19:
Evins Regional Juvenile Center: 31
Gainesville State School: 13
Giddings State School: 84
McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility: 42
Ron Jackson State Juvenile Correctional Complex: 26
