Lucy Martinez, 80 (Coleman)

Lucy Martinez, age 80, of Coleman, died Monday, August 31, 2020 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

The family will host a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.  Private interment will be at the Burkett Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Lucinda Martinez on April 7, 1940 in Coleman to Miguel “Mike” Martinez and Manuela Holguin Martinez.  Lucy grew up in Coleman and Fort Worth and attended school in Coleman.  She worked in environmental housekeeping at Coleman County Medical Center for 30 years.  Lucy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and her siblings.  She had a vibrant spirit and personality and will be missed.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Richard Martinez, Hope Martinez, Shirley Martinez Torres, Fernando Martinez.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxanna Martinez-Scott and husband Dushannon “Shawn” of Austin; her grandchildren, Hadassa Martinez, Marqueth D.J. Scott, Chardell Ayanna Scott, Samiyah Kashawn Scott; one sister, Connie Jauregui of Coleman; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
