EARLY – The Early volleyball team improved to 5-2 on the season Saturday with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-13 victory over Brady – the Lady Horns’ second triumph over the Lady Bulldogs this year.

“We played a complete, great game today from start to finish,” said Lady Horns head coach Natalie Whitewood. “We cleaned up the mistakes we were making on Tuesday and came together for a big win today. I’m so blessed to be a Lady Horn and even more blessed to be a part of a wonderful group of young ladies.”

Carrigan Norris and Savannah Holt led the offensive attack with seven kills apiece followed by Alexa Portillo with six, Taylor Summers with five and Grecia Yebra, Reagan Kirby and Gwen Phillips with one each.

Summers dished out 12 assists, Portillo added six and Holt was credited with one.

Norris served six aces, Summers and Madie Waldorf added four each and Portillo and Grace LaRue each contributed one.

Defensively, LaRue finished with five digs followed by Waldorf with four, Norris and Summers with three apiece, and Portillo with one.

At the net, Holt tallied two blocks while Phillips and Summers notched one each.

The Lady Horns (5-2) are back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they travel to Grape Creek.
