Welton Ray Watson Sr.

Welton Ray Watson Sr. passed from this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at his residence at the age of 70 years.

Services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Chaplain Don Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

A lifelong resident of Coleman County, Ray was born in Seminole, Texas on January 4, 1950 to Rush Ray and Mary Juanita Stanford Watson. Ray was raised in Coleman County attending the Novice ISD. He was a mechanic by trade and a good and kind man.

Survivors include daughter Patricia Faye Scott of Brownwood, Texas; two sons Welton Ray Jr. and wife Christina Watson of Coleman, Texas and Brian & wife Brandy Jarvis of Santa Anna, Texas; granddaughter Lacy Watson of Coleman, Texas; two grandsons Welton Ray Watson III of Coleman, Texas and Knox Lane Jarvis of Santa Anna, Texas; two sisters Gloria Godfrey of Lake Jackson, Texas and Glenda Campbell of Bangs, Texas; two brothers Randall & wife Mary Watson of Coleman, Texas and Stanley Watson of Tye, Texas.

Ray was preceded in death by his daughter Juanita Jean Jarvis in 2017.
