Rita G. (Falkner) Buris, 75 of Bangs, passed away August 8, 2020. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, August 10, 2020 at Heartland Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May.

Rita was born December 24, 1944 in Cross Plains to Daniel and Olene Falkner. She attended school in Cross Plains. Rita married Kenneth Buris on October 23, 1973 in Brownwood by Police Chaplin Bob Riley and they combined a family blessed with 5 children. Rita loved family, church and dearly loved her six grandkids and 2 great grandkids. Rita loved to sew, her passion was making dolls and stuffed animals. She enjoyed traveling with Ken on his jobs. There she got to meet new people and see the country with Ken. Rita had a beautiful voice and shared her talent with her sisters in harmony singing gospel songs wherever they could.

Rita is survived by her husband, Kenneth Buris of Bangs; sons, Dennis and wife Cathy Blankinship of Stephenville, Billy Blankinship of Bangs, Tim Buris and wife Jeannette of Brownwood; daughter, Vicki and husband David Ehlers of Lubbock; sisters, Jean and husband Danny Kellar, Verda Anderson both of Brownwood; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda Blankinship; granddaughter, Chantay Blankinship; grandson, Cory Buris; and sister, Earlene Justice.
