Elaine Ann Henderson, 83 (Coleman)

Elaine Ann Henderson, age 83, of Coleman, died Monday, July 20, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

She was born Elaine Ann Pfeil on March 27, 1937 in Buffalo, New York to Arthur Pfeil and Loretta Mauer Pfeil.  Elaine grew up in Buffalo, New York and graduated high school in Williamsville.  Elaine had a passion for life and love to explore new things and areas.  She married the love of her life, Leroy Henderson in 1979 in Labelle, Florida.  Together, Elaine and Leroy operated a cricket farm in Florida and then lived in Kentucky for a short time.  After Leroy died, Elaine moved to Coleman to be closer to family.  It was then she became the assistant activity director at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.  Elaine had a passion for working with people.  She loved working with the elderly and making their days filled with happiness and joy.  Most of all, Elaine loved her family.  She held a special place in her heart for each and every one of them.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Loretta Pfeil; her daughter, Kristen Carter; her grandson, Dennis Morgan; and her sister, Shirley Forester.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Morgan and husband Rich of Coleman, Kelly Burrows-Patton and husband Chris of Atlanta, Georgia, Trish DeLeo of Clearwater, Florida; her son, Mark Henderson of Labelle, Florida; one brother, Peter Pfeil and wife Liz of Hilton Head, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Elaine to the Coleman County Senior Center, 916 South Concho Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.

In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, no services will be held.  In honor of her, we ask that you do a kind deed for the elderly or someone in need.

Services for the family are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.  Remembrances, condolences, and kind words can be expressed to the family at www.livingmemorials.com.
