Agenda for BMDD meeting slated for Tuesday

The Brownwood Municipal Development District will hold its next meeting at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 at the Council Chambers at Brownwood City Hall. The agenda is as follows:

Item 1. Call the meeting to order.

Item 2. Items to be withdrawn.

Item 3. Introductions, Announcements and Recognitions.

Item 4. The Board will consider approval of the minutes:

A. BMDD Special board meeting – June 16, 2020

Item 5. The Board will review the following financial reports:

A. Checklist – June

B. Income Statement – June

C. Loan and Incentive Summary – June

D. Sales Tax – Paid in July

Item 6. The Board will receive Director’s report:

A. Unemployment numbers and COVID-19 Impacts

B. Project Updates and Activity

Item 7. Discussion and possible approval to provide matching funds of $30,322 for a Texas Workforce Commission Jobs & Education for Texas Grant Program (JET) to implement a robotics, electronics and drone technology program.

Item 8. Discussion and possible approval to award bid for the demolition of the old Ice House & Timmins warehouse buildings located on Baker and Lee Streets.

Item 9. Discussion and possible approval to engage North American Analytical Laboratories, Inc. to work as consultant and solicit bids for an asbestos abatement project for BMDD owned property located at 2605 Morris Shephard Drive.

Item 10. Discussion and possible approval to spend up to $25,000 for new playground equipment at Trigg Park.

Item 11. Discussion about the proposed 2020/2021 BMDD fiscal year budget.

Item 12. The BMDD Board may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:

Section 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney

Section 551.072 – Deliberation Regarding Real Property

Section 551.087 – Deliberations regarding economic development negotiations

A. Discussion of 2 Building Improvement Incentive Program Grant (BIIP) for 2 commercial businesses.

B. Discussion regarding real estate negotiations with an industrial business expanding to Brownwood.

Item 13. The Board will reconvene into Regular Session in the City Council Chambers to take any action deemed necessary as result of the Executive Session.

Item 14. Adjournment
