Brownwood News – Hendrick Health Systems held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday afternoon, June 22, for the new Hendrick Urgent Care Clinic in Brownwood.  The clinic will be built just east of United Supermarket at 400 E. Commerce.

The ceremony included City of Brownwood officials and numerous Hendrick officials from Abilene.

Brad Holland, Hendrick Health System president and CEO speaks at the Brownwood groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hendrick Urgent Care Clinic

“Our state-of-the-art urgent care facilities will offer community access to quality treatment within the Hendrick system,” said Brad Holland, president and CEO for Hendrick Health System. “It never fails – you don’t get sick until after your doctor’s office has closed for the day or for the weekend. Our clinics will provide low-cost, walk-in care for life’s unexpected illnesses and accidents.”

Paul Waldrop of Brownwood, a member of Hendrick’s Board of Trustees, addresses the crowd Monday afternoon in Brownwood.

Hendrick Urgent Care will feature:

  • 3,500 square-foot facility
  • Five exam rooms
  • One large procedure room
  • On-site X-ray services
  • On-site laboratory services
  • Occupational Health (DOT exams, mask fittings, drug screens, EtOH breath tests, etc.)
  • Spacious waiting area
  • Designated children’s waiting area
  • Online appointment check-in and registration
  • Electronic medical record system connected to Hendrick Health System care sites

“Our urgent care clinics are just another way we are caring for patients when they need it and where they need it,” said Holland.

Hendrick expects the Brownwood location to open in about one year from now.  Two similar clinics are also being built in Abilene.
