Johnny Diaz, age 56, of Round Rock, formerly of Blanket, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, from stage 4 kidney cancer, with bone metastasis. He lost his hard-fought battle at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Visitation for Johnny will be held Thursday, May 21, 2020, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home, limiting the number of guests to 50 at all times.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2020, at Blanket Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Johnny was born on October 27, 1963, to Raymond, Sr. and Carolina (Longoria) Diaz in Brownwood, the youngest of six children. He graduated in 1983 from Early High School, where he met the love of his life and soulmate, Tricia. They were introduced by her brother, Tommy, in 1979 and were married on December 10, 1983.

Anyone that met Johnny knew that he was one of a kind. He was genuinely kind, led by example, worked hard, would help anyone in need, and never met a stranger. His favorite activity was spending time with his wife. He loved to spoil her; he brought her coffee in bed every morning. He really enjoyed taking day trips, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his grandsons. He worked his entire life until his diagnosis forced him to quit in 2018. That year he was named District Employee of the year for Pflugerville ISD.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Tricia Diaz of Round Rock; 2 sons, Brandyn Diaz and wife Alex of Belton, Tommy Diaz and wife Amber of Round Rock; 2 grandsons, Riley and Jackson Diaz of Belton; 2 sisters, Sammie Martinez and husband Able of Early, Mary De La Rosa and husband Victor of Round Rock; and 1 brother, Raymond Diaz, Jr. of Early. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Manuel and Roy Diaz.

Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
