Gary Johnson, age 57, of Brownwood passed away Monday, May 18th, 2020, in Temple.
Visitation for Gary will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home, limiting the number of visitors to 50 at any given time.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Brian Hall officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Gary was born on May 1, 1963, to Monroe and Lucy (Schumann) Johnson in Brownwood. He graduated from Brownwood High in 1981. Gary worked at JRB’s Grocery Store for about 5 years. After leaving JRB’s, he went to work in the Radiology Department at Brownwood Regional Medical Center for 28 years.
He was a longtime member of the Brownwood Jaycee’s and loved to volunteer for numerous things. Gary never met a stranger; he loved people and helping people in need. He was also a very lucky person, winning many contests throughout his life.
Gary is survived by his mother, Lucy Johnson of Brownwood; sister, Beverly Taylor and husband Billy of Brownwood; nephew, Daniel Taylor of Stephenville; niece, Lindsey Peak and husband Doug of Houston and their son, Oakley. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Corrine T. Smith Animal Center (3016 Milam Dr. Brownwood, Texas 76801).
