Leona F. Woodcox, 80 (Brownwood)

Leona F. Woodcox, age 80, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, May 12, at a Brownwood Nursing Home.

She was born August 7, 1939 in Brownwood the daughter of William J. and Eliza (Johnson) Woodcox.  She had been a resident of Brownwood all of her life, attended Northwest Elementary School and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.  She enjoyed being with family and friends and loved to sing especially old country hymns.  She enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing Yahtzee.

She is survived by a sister, Geraldine Masters of Brownwod and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Annie Doud, Betty Coffey, and Barbara Wagner, and a brother, William (Woody) Woodcox. She was also very fond of her in-laws, Georg Doud, Carolyn Woodcox, Ralph Masters, and Kenneth Wagner.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 16 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with David Barnum officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:30.  Burial will follow in the Heflin Cemetery.
