Thurman L. Washington, 61 (Brownwood)

Thurman Lee Washington Jr. of Brownwood passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at Community Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas.

Visitation will be held Thursday May 7, 2020 from 5-7 pm with a Memorial service to be held at 5 pm. Thurman will be laid to rest at Buckner Community Cemetery in Buckner Arkansas.

Thurman was born January 5, 1959 in Texarkana, AR to Berlene Ivory-Washington and Thurman Lee Washington Sr.. Thurman received his primary education from Texarkana public schools, graduating from Arkansas High School in 1977. After high school he joined the United States Army and served for 5 years.  After serving in the military he relocated to Tuscon, Arizona and started a career with 3M. His career lead him to Brownwood where he retired after 25 plus years.

In his spare time he loved to play basketball, watch sports, play dominoes and cards. He was very giving and often gave to different charities.

Thurman was preceded in death by parents, and brother Gregory Washington.

Left to cherish his memories are: wife, Vanessa Washington of Brownwood, son Kye Payne of Brownwood, daughter Letoria Morgan of Brownwood, brother Dennis Washington, of Brownwood ; sister, Helen Washington; of Texarkana, Arkansas, sister Lawanda Washington of Texarkana, Arkansas. 2 nephews, 1 niece , 9 grand nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and many friends.
