Hubert G. Mendoza, 74 (Brownwood)

Hubert G. Mendoza, age 74, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Baylor All Saints Hospice in Fort Worth.

He was born June 18, 1945 in Breckenridge, Texas the son of Juan Mendoza and Victoria Guzman.  He had been a resident of Brownwood most of his life and was a long-time employee of the 3-M Co, working in several manufacturing capacities.  He married Consuelo Hernandez in June 1969, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2019. They were long-time members of Saint Mary’s Queen of Peace Church.

He is survived by his wife, Consuelo Mendoza of Brownwood, two sons, Hubert Mendoza Jr. and fiancé, Jasmine Martinez of El Paso, Gabriel Mendoza and wife Angie of Tyler, daughter, Esmeralda Ballard and husband Jeff of San Angelo, three grandchildren, Roman G. Mendoza, Alexys Mendoza and Ethan Ward Ballard.  Two sisters, Angie Gomez and Linda Wargo both of Brownwood as well as several nieces, nephews, and God-children also survive.  He was a friend to many and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Guzman.

Private graveside services will be held at Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from noon on Friday until 6 PM, from 8 am Saturday until 6 PM and 9 AM until noon on Sunday.
