Kenneth Parks Gober Sr, known to most as Ken, passed away on Thursday, April 16th, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Ken was born on June 16th, 1930 to Lena Lois Gober and James Walter Gober in Holt, Texas. Kenneth joined the Navy at the age of 17, where he received honors during his service.

Ken met his lifelong love, Jennie Louise Parker, in San Francisco in 1952. Ken won his first big gamble when he agreed to a blind date that paid off with them getting married in 1953 in Reno, Nevada.

Ken retired from the Navy with 20 years of service and remained a member with the fleet reserve until his passing.

Kenneth was a generous business owner who would hire anyone and give them a chance with a clean slate from their past. He knew no stranger and welcomed anyone within his home. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather and rambunctious great-grandfather.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife Jennie Gober and his son Kevin Wayne Gober. Kenneth is survived by five children: daughter Donna White and husband Howard of Coleman Texas, son James Gober and wife Denise of Farmington Missouri, son Kenneth Gober Jr. and wife Diane of Terrell Texas, son Brian Gober of Early Texas, daughter Tina Sims and husband Randall of Mullin Texas, along with 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Ken will buried in the Holt Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral and Cremation Service.

Condolences, memories and tributes can be shared with the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
