Brown County Closing Public Lobbies / Areas Open to General Public at Courthouse and County Buildings

Brownwood News – Brown County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, issued Executive Order 2020-03 on Tuesday afternoon closing public lobbies and other areas open to the general public at the Brown County Courthouse and all County government buildings. The order is in effect from 12:01 am March 31, 2020 until April 17 at 11:59 pm, after which a re-evaluation of need will be assessed.

The Order states the Courthouse and other County buildings are not halting business and remain open but rather accessible to the public by appointment. The public is requested to call the office they need to visit and set an appointment date and time.

Exceptions to the Order – 1) This order shall not affect those persons desiring to attend the weekly County Commissioners Court meetings held on Mondays at 9:00 am in the Courthouse. 2) Law enforcement and Public Safety Buildings.
