Brownwood News – Brown County Clerk, Sharon Ferguson, has announced that amid ongoing concerns about the coronavirus COVID-19, the Brown County Clerk’s office has made the following changes effective March 23, 2020:

1. The County Clerk’s Office is closed to the public.  If you need to apply for a marriage license and have an emergency situation, please call the office at 325-643-2594.  Staff will still be working.  We will help you utilize the county website, if needed.
2. Customers are strongly encouraged to stay home and take advantage of the services provided online. Please call and set up an appointment, if absolutely necessary.  We are still here to help you.  We encourage you to try and take care of business either by telephone or by mail.
3. My staff and I appreciate your consideration of our health and safety during this time and wish you and your family health and happiness. We will update you as needed.
