Charlene Burrow Conway, 90 (Coleman)

Charlene Burrow Conway, age 90, of Coleman, died Saturday, March 21 at Coleman County Medical Center.

A private graveside service will take place at the Coleman City Cemetery with Richard Hetzel, officiating.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born March 9, 1930 to Charles “Charlie” James Burrow and Minnie Elizabeth “Bessie” Martin Burrow in Happy, Texas.  At the age of one, Charlene moved with her family to Coleman where she graduated Coleman High School.  She married Gordon Conway on June 11, 1952 in Coleman.  Charlene loved working crossword puzzles, talking to friends on the telephone, and watching the Game Show Network.  She loved her family and held them close to her heart.  She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.  Her favorite activity was to cook a big family meal and spend time with each of them.  She leaves behind an amazing legacy for all of them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bessie Burrow; her husband, Gordon Conway; and her brothers, Herman Burrow, Cecil Morgan, Jack Morgan.

Charlene is survived by her daughters, Patricia Elaine Berry and husband Jimmie Ray of Coleman, Glenda Jean Swan and husband Johnny Ray of Crossett, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Michael Chapman, Shana Michelle DeLeon, Shelly Marie Parson, Clinton Dewayne Walker, Christie Leigh Messinger; her great-grandchildren, Cody Chapman, Jordon Jewell, Kendall Walker, Jared Walker, Kobi Dobbins, Cade Spikes, Kory Dobbins, Henry Messinger, Reid Messinger; great-great-granddaughter, Trinidy Kate Chapman; and sister, Arlene Stratton and husband Walter of Richland Springs.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren, Cody Chapman, Jordon Jewell, Kendall Walker, Jared Walker, Kobi Dobbins, Cade Spikes, Kory Dobbins, Henry Messinger, and Reid Messinger.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Charlene to the Coleman County Medical Center bereavement room, 310 South Pecos Street, Coleman, Texas 76834 or to the Cancer Services Network, 1218 North Fourth Street, Suite 213, Abilene, Texas 79601.
