It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Duaine Eason announces his passing on March 7, 2020 at the age of 84. Ken was born in Tahoka, Texas on September 13, 1935 to Loyd and Lela Mae Eason. His family moved to Bangs, Texas when he was two years old, which is where he grew up and attended Bangs schools. Ken’s classmates called him Peewee, because he was short, but that didn’t stop him from being voted “most athletic” his senior year in 1955. He was also known for his good nature and cheerful laugh, in fact, many kids called him “the laughing kid from Bangs”.

After graduation in 1955 he joined the Army and was stationed in Ft. Ord California. After serving, he returned to Brownwood, Texas and met and married the love of his life, Lavon Hinesly.

Together they made a life here in Brownwood before her passing in 2004.

Ken was a tile setter by trade and set tile in many houses in Brown and surrounding counties.  During slow times he worked for Waldrop Construction and always said they were the finest people to work for.  After 20 years of tile setting, he started a new career in the real estate business and found it to be his true passion. Up until his retirement he owned and operated “Ken Eason Real Estate” and sold property over multiple counties.

For many years Ken and Lavon were members of Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood.  It was there they met their dear friends Burns and Billie Tongate along with many others.

Ken Eason was a kind and caring man. His laugh and sense of humor will always be remembered and missed dearly.

He is survived by his son Keith Eason and wife Tonja; daughter Kera Eason Beebe and wife Christa; niece Terry Hill; nephew Richard Eason and wife Lori. He was lovingly called “Paw” by his  grandchildren Annabella Eason, Spencer Eason-Beebe and Maya Eason-Beebe as well as his grand nephew Payden Eason and grand niece Haley Jo Eason.

Other grand nieces and nephews Scott Eason and wife Lissa, and their children Cayden, Bayleigh, and Sawyer Eason.

Preceded in death by his parents Loyd and Lela Mae; his brother, Willie Eason; his sister Lela Pearl Eason; and his loving wife Lavon Eason.

Visitation:

Saturday  March 14th 5-7 at Davis Morris Funeral Home

Services:
