A visitation will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 28, 2020.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May with Pastor Jimmy Nail officiating.

Mickie was born September 13, 1944 to Jack and Elsie Heard in Van Horn, Texas.  He graduated from the Van Horn High School and ended up in Missouri where he spent many years and retired from Amax Lead Company where he worked as a miner.  Mickie moved to Oklahoma after retirement and worked managing a mobile home park so he could spend some time with grandkids.  He loved being around family and valued time with them.  He eventually moved to the area so he could be around his brothers and family.  Mickie loved to cook and was known for his meatloaf and fried egg sandwiches.  He spent most of his time with his horses, hunting with the nephews and his dog, “Harley”.  Mickie had a big heart and enjoyed helping people.  He adopted neighbors and friends as family members and was known by all as Uncle Mickie, no matter the relation.  He attended High Mesa Cowboy Church with his family.

Mickie is survived by his daughters, Ronnie Michelle Pankey of Bangs and Jamie Marie and husband Gary Owen of Salem, Missouri; brothers, George McCutchen Heard of Early and Eddie Mac Heard of Brownwood; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
