Herbert Lee Smith of Glen Cove, Texas passed from this life on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 9:25 am at his residence at the age of 71 years.

Services will be Friday, February 28, at 2:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Lee Ausmus officiating.  Interment will follow at the Glen Cove Cemetery with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman.

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday from 7:00 till 8:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home.

Herbert was born August 5, 1948 in Collin County, Texas to Elmer Louis and Effie Viola Gibson Smith.  He was raised in Princeton where he attended schools and was a member of the Whiterock Baptist Church.  On October 7, 1966 Herbert married Doris Jean Vandver in Princeton, Texas and they have celebrated 53 years of marriage.  He was a longtime resident of Princeton where he worked in Landscaping.  Herbert loved Gardening, Fishing and auto mechanic on race cars.  In 2008 they moved to Glen Cove where he worked on the Diamond D Ranch until his retirement.

Sister-in-law – Shirley Smith of Princeton, Texas
