Brownwood Police and Brown County Sheriff’s Department Reports

Brownwood News –  The following calls for service have been responded to by the Brownwood Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in the past few days.

BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER

On Monday, February 10, 2020 at approximately 14:35 hours, a Brownwood Police Officer responded to the 2500 block of Durham Avenue in reference to a theft report. A report has been generated.

On 02/10/2020 Brownwood officers were dispatched to E. Baker St. in reference to a reckless driver. An arrest was made and a report has been generated.

On 2/8/2020 at 22:00 hours, Officers were waived down in the 4400 Blk. of 4th St. Upon further investigation, a Domestic was reported to Officers that occurred in the 1600 Blk. of Southgate.  A man was arrested for assault on a peace officer and assault causes bodily injury family violence.

On 2/10/2020 at 04:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 Blk. of 3rd St. in reference to an accident.  A woman was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Accident Involving Injury.

On 2/10/20, at approximately 11:30 hrs, Officer Taylor was at the Brownwood LEC when informed about a walk-in wanting to speak to an officer in reference to harassment. A report was filed at the complainant’s request.

On February 10, 2020, at 15:54 hours, Officer Shade Tidwell was dispatched to the intersection of 3rd Street and Brady Avenue in reference to a welfare check. This call led to the arrest of a male subject for Public Intoxication – 3rd or more.

On 2-10-20 Officers responded to the 600 block of Ave G in reference to a harassment. A report was taken for harassment. The investigation continues.

On February 10, 2020, at approximately 21:19, Officer Mares observed a red Ram 1500 pickup at the intersection of E. Baker Avenue and Fisk Avenue. The pickup did not have any lights on during nighttime hours, which meant that the driver was violating their duty to display lights. A traffic stop was initiated on the pickup for the violation. The pickup came to a stop in the 800 block of Fisk Avenue. This stop led to the arrest of the driver for Possession of Marijuana <2oz.

On 2-10-20, Officers responded to the 2300 block of Vine Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. An investigation was conducted, and a male suspect was taken to jail and booked for assault, family violence by impeding breath.

BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT

On Monday, February 10, Lt. Pete Bastardo spoke with a woman in regards to being scammed out of $3,800 in eBay cards. A report was taken from the woman.

On Monday, February 10, at 12:42 hours, Deputy Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center.  This was in regards to theft.  Upon arrival, Deputy Bastardo spoke with a woman who said that on Wednesday, February 5, money was taken from her purse by a subject.  A report was taken.

On February 10, at approximately 17:13 hours, while on uniformed patrol in a marked Brown County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to make contact with a female.  This was regarding a reported theft of a motor vehicle.
