Aleece Scott Smith, age 73, of Brownwood was called home on Sunday, February 9, 2020.

A Celebration of Life for Aleece will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020, at First Christian Church with Bill Slaymaker officiating; private interment will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Aleece’s journey began on June 8th, 1946, in Brownwood, Texas, but she stopped counting years at 73. She was a devoted wife to Paul Smith, and loving mother and mother-in-law to her kids: Tyson & Derric, Zane & Angie, Chad, and DeDe & Scott; proud grandmother and great-grandmother to her grandkids: Holly, Julia, Fielder, Justin, Dillon And Kline; and great-grandkids: London, Oliver, Cash And Waylon. As well as MANY MANY more family and friends.

Aleece worked in Medical Records at Brownwood Regional Medical Center for 30 dedicated years before she retired and started a new career. She was a hard-working woman.

She was kind and welcoming to every person she encountered and never met a stranger.

Aleece loved camping, being with all of her family and her morning coffee. She kept those around her laughing. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyful spirit.

Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measures.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Walker Cancer Center at (Brownwood Regional Medical Center, Attn: Marketing Director, 1501 Burnet Dr. Brownwood, Texas 76801) or Shriners Hospital for Children.  Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
