Brownwood News – The following calls were responded to by the Brownwood Police Department.
On 01/13/2020 Brownwood officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Magnolia St in reference to disorderly conduct. A report has been generated.
On 1-14-20 Officers were called to the 1300 block of Brooks Ave in reference to a domestic disturbance. A male was arrested for assault causes bodily injury, family violence.
On 01/14/2020 Brownwood officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to theft. A citation was issued and a report has been generated.
On 1-14-20 at approximately 19:48 hours, Officer W. Klutts was in the inside lane traveling south on Austin Ave. Officer Klutts came to a stop behind a beige Ford Edge at the intersection of Austin Ave and Main St. The vehicle was crooked inside the lane. When the light turned green, it took approximately 4 seconds before the vehicle began to drive. Officer Klutts activated emergency lights, signaling the vehicle to pull over. The vehicle failed to pull to the right immediately. Further investigation led to the arrest of DUI.

On Thursday, January 14, 2020, Officers responded to the 200 block of Bluffview Dr. in reference to an assault. After speaking to parties left on scene, a report was generated.
On Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at approximately 20:44 hours, Officer Mares was dispatched to the 3900 block of 4th St in reference to forgery/counterfeit. The officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant in regards to the incident. A report has been made.
On January 14, 2020 Brownwood officer Mares initiated a traffic stop on a white SUV on Austin Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI. The passenger was also found to be intoxicated and was unable to contact a sober ride to take custody of him. The passenger was intoxicated to the point where he was a danger to himself and others. The passenger was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication.
On 1/15/2020 at 23:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1500 Blk. of Coggin Ave. in reference to forgery/ counterfeiting. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
On 1/16/2020 at 01:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1500 Blk. of Coggin Ave. in reference to forgery/ counterfeiting. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
On 1/15/2020 at 23:00 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 Blk. of Coggin Ave. in reference to forgery/ counterfeiting. A report was taken to be passed on for further investigation.
