Katy Lorean (Day) Whorton, 86 (Brownwood)

Katy Lorean (Day) Whorton, 86, passed from this life Thursday, January 9, 2020.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Heartland Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 12, 2020 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Greenleaf cemetery officiated by Tim Boykin.

Katy was born in Burkett, Texas to Bernard and Katy Day.  She attended school in Burkett and married Lewis Dee Whorton on February 20, 1956 which began a life that blessed them with 5 children.  Katy worked as a homemaker most of her life taking care of her husband and chasing the kids around.  She enjoyed fishing, working her puzzles and puzzle books.  She was an avid video game player, her favorite was Bomberman and she like to relax and watch some TV.  Family was the most important thing in the world to her, she loved her children, grandbabies and great great-grandbabies more than anything else in the world.  They were her center, her place of joy.

Katy is survived by her daughter, Rosanna Sheller of Early, Betty and husband Mark Hall of Llano, Texas, Jo Ella and husband Jackie White of Brownwood; sons, Danny Whorton of Brownwood and Lewis D. Whorton Jr. of Lake Brownwood; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Katy was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis D. Whorton Sr.; her parents; brothers, Edward, Nadre Ray, BC Jr., Willie and William Day; sisters, Anna Fay Blevins and Ida Mae Keith.
